There are many reasons why women come in for a breast lift with implants, also known as augmentation mastopexy. One of these reasons is pregnancy – or, more specifically, breastfeeding.

While pregnancy at first causes an increase in breast volume, this is only the beginning of the changes that take place in the appearance of the breasts. With this increase in breast volume comes a corresponding increase in the size of the skin tissue as it stretches.

Stretched skin tissue doesn’t automatically go back down to its normal size after lactation has ceased. Instead, it typically stays at its new size, causing a drooping of the breasts. Augmentation mastopexy lifts the breasts and restores the lost volume, reshaping and enhancing the breasts.
