Gynecomastia – Male Breast Reduction Miami
Posted May 16, 2014 in Plastic Surgery
Males with overdeveloped male breast tissue have a condition called gynecomastia. It’s normal to feel self-conscious about this and to develop body issues resulting from it. To correct it, plastic surgeons can recontour the chest area using a surgical technique known as male breast reduction.
Gynecomastia can either be unilateral or bilateral. When one side of the chest is larger than normal as a result of excess tissue, this is called unilateral gynecomastia. When both sides of the chest are of abnormal size, the condition is known as bilateral gynecomastia. Those with unilateral gynecomastia are advised to consider a biopsy, as this may be an indicator of breast cancer.
