How to Choose Breast Implants According to Your Lifestyle?

Posted August 02, 2021 in Breast Augmentation, Breast Procedures

3 Minute Read:

Everyone has different needs and goals for plastic surgery. Depending on your lifestyle, the right implant size for someone else may not work for you. You may be of the same height, frame, and weight as your friend but require a different-sized breast implant, so do not fixate on how many CC’s your friend chose.

Understanding the ideal breast implant size to achieve your cosmetic goals and suit your lifestyle can make the process of choosing breast implants much simpler.

Overly large implants can get in the way of your busy lifestyle or even look disproportional when compared to the rest of the body. However, smaller implants may not provide you with the dramatic enhancement that caused you to seek plastic surgery in the first place.

Balance is everything when choosing your implant size, and this will be discussed with you during your consultation. Still, here are a few things to keep in mind.

Your Age

Your age can act as a limiting factor to your breast implant size. Younger women with good skin quality and adequate breast tissue can get away with larger implants than older women with thinner skin and diminished breast tissue.

Your Level of Activity

How active is your lifestyle? Do you love to work out and move around? Are you in sports? How physical is your job?

All these are factors to consider when choosing your breast implant.

If you are very physically active, you may want to stick to the smaller end of your size range; otherwise, more volume could affect your comfort and posture as you move around.

It’s also important to consider how much your body might change over the coming years. For instance, a bodybuilder might expect to lose a significant amount of body fat in the future and should consider how their implants will look after those changes.

Your Wardrobe

The type of clothes you need for your lifestyle may also be affected by your breast implants. If you want to fill out low-cut dresses and tops, larger implants with more enhanced contours may be ideal.

Individuals need to also think about how comfortable they are with people taking note of their new, improved contours. If you would like to keep things under the radar, a smaller-sized implant can be more fitting.

At Careaga Plastic Surgery, we use Sientra® implants for our breast augmentation patients. They are filled with a high-strength cohesive gel that offers women the advantage of soft yet durable implants that mimic the natural breast tissue. Further, Sientra® ’s microtextured shell surface is reported to have low capsular contracture, rupture, and reoperation rates.
