ADVANCED LASER THERAPY TO TREAT FACIAL VEINS

If you look at your face you may be seeing fine, little red veins appearing on your nose, chin, or cheeks. These are telangiectasias or facial spider veins. Unfortunately, facial spider veins are a normal part of aging and affect both men and women. If you are tired of trying to cover up unsightly spider veins with make-up, there are effective treatments that will eliminate spider veins.
There is no need to continue to try and cover up your facial spider veins, as advanced laser technologies used at Careaga Plastic Surgery Center can help remove facial spider veins and other pigmented lesions.

LEARN HOW FACIAL VEIN TREATMENTS CAN HELP

In addition to spider veins appearing on men and women as they age, patients also seek treatment for spider veins due to sun damage, rosacea, and chronic topical steroid use. For women, spider veins can also be from birth control pills, HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and pregnancy.
Facial telangiectasias are very small, superficial veins and capillaries in the skin that have become permanently dilated and are visible on the face. Dr. Daniel E. Careaga advises that they are not broken blood vessels.
At Careaga Plastic Surgery Center we use laser technology and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy to treat facial spider veins. Dr. Daniel E. Careaga will review which option fits your specific needs before providing treatment.

UNDERSTANDING THE FACIAL VEIN TREATMENTS PROCESS

The Tri-Lase™ laser technology has been developed with a collection of light-based wave lengths that targets the blood cells in dilated vessels. The blood cells in the vessel absorb the energy from the laser, which counters the effect of the dilation by selectively destroying the blood vessel. The capillaries and veins, which are reddish or purple, are absorbed and no longer visible on the skin. The light will pass through the outer skin layers targeting only the pigmented lesions. Overtime, the body’s immune system cleans the reddish/purple particles from the skin causing the facial vein to eventually fade.

The type and length of treatment your facial spider veins will be assessed by Dr. Daniel E. Careaga. Based on your medical history, the depth and length of time you have had the facial veins and a variety of other factors will be evaluated. The appearance of the treated area immediately after a laser session will vary from patient to patient depending on the extent of treatment.

Typically the sessions are no longer than 15 minutes and most patients require two to three treatments that are spaced a month apart. Again, each patient’s condition must be evaluated individually and the projected outcome discussed with you. Immediate after-effects, if any, are minor. They may include redness, light crusting, or tenderness, all of which disappear in a short time.
Dr. Daniel E. Careaga and the Laser technicians at Careaga Plastic Surgery Center can help you remove facial veins. Schedule a consultation today to learn more about safe and effective laser treatments.
