SUN DAMAGE AND SUNSPOTS – Cortex™ laser system treatments will lighten wide areas and individual pigmented lesions on your face, chest, and arms.

FINE LINES AND PORE SIZE – Cortex™ laser system treatments target and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in your skin. By stimulating the production of collagen fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced and the elastin production will help to restore the elasticity and firmness of your skin.

ACNE SCARS – Cortex™ laser system treatments will improve shallow scars and fine lines.

SPIDER VEINS – Cortex™ laser system treatments will dissolve spider veins. These discolorations are vascular based, and include everything from persistent pinkness to red, blue or purple in color.

TREATMENT RESULTS

Careaga Plastic Surgery advises that you can expect the following post-treatment results:

Day 1 – Immediately after the Cortex™ laser system treatment your skin will be pink and have a similar sensation to a mild sun burn.

Day 2 – Your skin will be pink or red.

Day 3 & 4 – Your skin will begin to exfoliate as new skin cells replace the dry, dead ones.

Day 5-7 – You will find that most signs of the laser treatment will have vanished leaving your newly-revealed skin looking and feeling tighter, younger and naturally healthy.

Since the surface of the skin is not damaged, there really is no recovery time necessary with the Cortex™ laser treatments. Treatments typically take less than 30 minutes. Patients report varying treatment ssensations as tiny pulses of energy are delivered into the skin. Typically patients report that they experience a warm sharp feeling and an immediate tightening of the skin. Most patients look and feel like they have mild sunburn for a few days after
the treatment. Anesthetic ointments and ice packs may be used to reduce any discomfort.
